Our Values and Ethos
St Christopher’s Mission and Values
Our school mission, in partnership with parents and parish, is to
create a caring, worshipping community rooted in Christ’s teaching
where everyone can achieve his or her full potential.
Our School Values
Christ is at the heart of our school in all we do, say and teach; this lived sense of community is evident in the quality of our relationships with all our community and the strong culture of welcome we offer - valuing all without exception and acknowledging Christ’s presence in each other. Everyone is welcomed in a spirit of hospitality, especially those who are most vulnerable. This culture of welcome means that St Christopher’s celebrates the presence of those from various cultures and belief traditions, working hard to understand their needs and enable them to live and pray in fidelity to their own commitments.
The life and mission of the school are deeply rooted in the Word of God, demonstrated and lived through our St Christopher’s Way Values.
Responsibility for our actions towards ourselves, each other and our environment – as in The Creation Story: Genesis 1
Caring for ourselves, others and the world around us – as in the story of The Good Samaritan: Luke 10: 25-37
Fairness enabling us to see that we are all unique in the eyes of God and understanding that some may need an ‘extra box’ – as in the story of The Workers in the Vineyard: Matthew 20: 1-16
Honesty about the things that we have done and how to repair if necessary - as in the story of Zacchaeus the Tax collector in Luke 19:1-10)
Resilience to cope with all that life brings: the joy, the sorrow, the confusion, the challenge – as in the story of Joseph and his brothers in Genesis 37
Respect to understand and accept everyone as unique and special, despite our many differences – as in the story of The Banquet in Luke 14: 15-24
By living out these values every day we can truly
Carry Christ to All
