Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools to reduce the gap in attainment between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

The DfE consider disadvantaged pupils to be those who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as Ever 6), those who are looked after (LAC) by their local authority and children who have been adopted. Pupils with parents in the Armed Forces are also eligible for Pupil Premium funding.

The Government has stated that it is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, however schools are required to show how interventions benefit the specific groups of pupils, demonstrate outcomes and outline how the money is allocated.
